Sea Teach

There used to be three If I recall,Bosuns Locker, one in the Hornet and one off east street.I spent much of my youth and money in those dens...and its true there were n half eatern pie facimiles....

Rapidy becoming the ONLY source of S/S fastenings: everyone else is switching to those horrid pre packs where you have to buy 5 when you need 3, or 10 when you need 6! And at prices where they would be no bargain in 9ct gold!

Fyi, The chandlery at emsworth yacht harbour also has a large collection of loose s/s fastenings and bits.

Not unless they've increased their stock in the couple of weeks since I was there !

They're a nice lot of friendly polite people at the marina chandlery, but sadly the range of stock seems rather limited; is it me, or has their range shrunk since they moved premises a few yards ?

I can remember when there were 3 more chandleries in Emsworth; OSTAR, the place opposite which mainly did rigging, and the place on the corner just before these two ( Bosuns Locker ? )!

The Monkeys Fist at Northney marina was handy too, but also seemed to suffer the Catch 22 situation of insufficient stock.

Force 4 at Donnington near Chichester are very good though, when I bought an inflatable from them recently one of their staff carried it out to my car and then helped move my trailer , without being asked and while they were busy...

..... but always short on the sizes I seem to need, e.g needed 6 off panhead 4x25 with nuts and washers Yes six bolts but only csk x30mm, 5 nuts and only 2 washers! Seateach have never yet let me down, so I go straight there. Pity, EYH is just round the corner for me, and half way to the boat!
