How frustrating to sit looking out at near perfect conditions in Christchurch Bay yesterday while we are still layed-up, due to launch at the end of this week which will no doubt mean a change in the weather!!
Does anyone have any advice/feedback on the merits of subscribing to Sea Start please /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Thanks

Excellent service, professionally run and very good for your peace of mind, as well(particularly, if I may say so, as you have a single engined mobo...). Have never heard a bad word spoken about them on these boards, which is a recommendation in itself.

Re the weather: Yes, it's going downhill at the end of the week!

Deffinitely worth the money. Fantastic service even on busy days. I have only used their services once when I got a lobster pot caught around one of the props. He put a dry suit on, jumped in took the props off, removed rope, props back on and I continued on my way. All this within an hour. I know a few paople who have needed their services on a number of occasions and have always been very satisfied. When you consider the general cost of boating £130 or whatever it is, is money very well spent.

I would definately reccomend Sea Start, a couple of years ago I was coming back from Guernsey on my 410 Statesman (previous boat) and lost a shaft coupling about 10 miles south of Alderney. About an hour later Sea Start came up from Guernsey, had a quick look in the engine room and established that nothing could be done to fix it, so escorted me back to Swanwick Marina on a single engine for Sealine to sort the problem out.
Now if that isn't service beyond the call of duty..........

Anyway, now my year's warranty is up on the S42, I shall certainly be re-joining Sea Start for this season.

Echo the experiences of all so far. I have cause to call them out once before last season.. on a return trip from Dartmouth.

The chap was with me within an hour and provided an excellent knowledgable and courteous service.

Join up for sure.
