Hi All, am based down in Brixham & am thinking of signing upto Sea Start, is anyone used these guy's in particular in the Torquay/Brixhm area? Do they provide a good service and geographical coverage?

Any help as always is appreciated.

Wish they'd move up the Bristol Channel to Cardiff/Portishead area.
I'm sure there are hundreds who would sign up.
 
Been in Seastart for a few years in Torbay and the service, advice or attendance has always been very good. You get the first hour of a call out free (there is possibly a max no of CO's per annum - not sure), which is usually enough. I have only ever called them for help when in the Marina (Always managed to bodge a repair or limp back when at Sea) and its been Darthaven that have attended.
 
outstanding outfit who even extend their help across the channel. a few years back I got snarled up on pot lines off barfleur and limped into Cherbourg to try and get a diver to go down and see what could be done. no diver so called seastart for advice - within an hour they had arranged a lift out and a man with a very sharp knife - no charge. what can you say?
 
Same same. We were headed for Portugal in 2008 and our memberhsip had just lapsed, but had electrical issues in N Brittany that a local non seastart chappie spent a day on, paid him 300 euros for time and 'new parts', and after he departed it failed again.
A call to Seastart led to them organising their closest man (at that time it was back in Jersey) so we set sail - and he fixed the issues in a few hours and moderate cost.
Highly recommended.
