Hi
I am thinking to start myself in the navigation world and I would appreciate the advise of experts about what of this 2 boats would buy?
The 1985 Bayliner, 32' with 2 engines DIESEL Hino/Nissan 165HP with 1400 hours. With 4 solar panels 53w without generator and with aircon.
The 1986 Sea Ray, 34' with 2 engines Chevy GASOLINE 130HP one new with 10h and the other with 1234h. With generator and trailer included.
Thanks in advance.

Jordi,

Welcome to the forum.

We really need a bit more information before we can give constructive advice. Moor example, where are you planning to use the boat? River or coastal? What is your approx budget? Availability of gasoline for refuelling, why these 2 boats?
Generally, for coastal use in the UK, diesel is the preferred choice, for fuel consumption, fuel availability and safety. Also for resale. It is very difficult here to sell a boat over 28 feet with gasoline engines, for the above reasons.

Hi Rafiki
Thanks a lot for your response. I am planning to use basically in the north of Mexico and California. So coastal. I choose this two boats because those are what are offering that fit my budget around 30.000$. Do you think are good value? They seem very well cared both.
Thanks again

The diesel versus petrol discussion is easier in the USA with the price of gasoline $3 ish a gallon. Just go the boat that you feel has been best maintained, and Thant you like the best. For me the Sea Ray will be better built than the Bayliner, which may be more suited to lakes than coastal use.
