I see on Google Earth that Sea Palling is approx 32M from Wells and 20M from Lowestoft.

Is it a good place to sit out a foul tide and get some sleep?

What info does anyone have?

My boat draft is 1m with the plate up.

Yes it is. We did exactly that last year, albeit for a daylight stop to sit out the foul tide. Even in a light easterly there was enough shelter for a comfortable stop, but I would be wary in anything stronger with east in it.

Our draft is 1m and the main entrance, the one with the cardinal marks, had plenty of water. A commercial fishing boat was weaving in and out of lots of the other gaps in the reef whilst we were anchored, so presumably reasonable depth in others also.

It's fine, although you'll need to stay fairly close to the rock with that draft unless you want to touch (although you won't dry). 10m should do it.

Obviously, don't touch it in an easterly, but otherwise it appeared well sheltered.

Enter in the middle of the run of reefs. There are two cardinal posts which you will be able to make out in the binocs. Go between them, and turn to port. Starboard is far too shallow.

Oh, watch out for the foam build up. At night I mistook it for the rock as I moved away, and had a slightly "brown" moment. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
