I have one on my gaffer. The new easy to remove blade model. Dose its job, but I have not used any other, so cannot compare. Istructions could be better written. I'm dislexic, so like clear instructions. There is some vidio on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wemCBRTd7ak

I bought one in 2008 to replace an Aries for my Trintella 29. I paid £1,695 and have never regretted it. Much more sensitive and weighing considerably less than the Aries We don't do a lot of steering these days except when racing.
The price wasn't quite so startling for me because I sold the aries for £400 more than I'd paid for it!!

Got my Sea Feather second hand off a chap on this forum. Initially on my phillipa 27, now on my cutlass 27.

I looked at the Sea Feather, got a quote and the chap operates from near me too. Then I picked up a late (UK) Aries in excellent condition which I haven't got around to fitting.
The Aries is certainly a well tried and proven piece of kit and well built but I'm still tempted by the Sea Feather, should I sell it and get a Sea Feather I wonder?

We swapped Aries to Sea Feather because the Aries was rather heavy for a 29ft boat. even a heavy displacement one like our Trintella. The Sea Feather is much better in lighter winds. Having said that you have to balance the sails for either of them. Both very good bits of kit and both make long passages so much more enjoyable.

Sorry don't know who built her. She is number hull 10. I'm very happy with her. I got her to do the Jesters i she is up to it I'm not .......yet

Likely she will have been built by Terry then, Martin's dad. For their size, as a sea boat they take some beating.
I don't think anybody is ever really ready for the Jester, they just hope they are, and go anyway! It' kind of what it's all about really. I don't like the way owners of bigger boats are trying to muscle in on the Jester, some of the suggestions on here for alterations to it have been laughable, and sad too.
