Thinking of buying one of these, does anyone know anything about them? Any Problems known with them? are they good fun/any better than buying a boat with a traditional prop on an outboard/inboard. Just going to be using it for pulling toys/water skiing behind and doing small trips with.

guy had new one last year at our marina he spent more time fixing it than using it.

Get it. We had a 240hp Speedster for three or four seasons - great fun. As far as I'm aware the major problem they suffer from is from previous owners not having rinsed the system with fresh water after use. We had a temperamental speedo but I can't remember anything else falling apart or off. Be prepared to burn shed loads of unleaded - what better way to put a smile on your face though? Bombardier produce a 540hp version, if you get one I'll show you how to fill your knickers with the brown stuff.

After nearly cracking a rib on a friend's submerged Searay leg I'd give jet drives my vote every time.
