look her up on the web and see the oppulence inside. Over 4000euros per per person for 6 nights.
Makes my cabin on this tub look like a rathole. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
She is pretty for sure, especially when seen on her own - but she does look a bit like a motor yacht with some sticks added later, almost as an after thought.
She is simply exquisite, and is a true sailing ship - the engines are auxiliaries only. She was sailing against us (I was on one of the TSYT brigs) in the tall ships division of Antigua Classics in 2004, and of course she just left us in her wake very quickly.
We even saw them round up and drop anchor under sail (no engines involved) at the end of a race one day (they wanted to show off a bit I think, and with good reason) - but its not quite as easy on a barque as it is on a little bermudan sloop!
Although the guest accomodation on Sea Cloud is palatial, the crew accomodation is much more basic - the deckhands live in the focsle, same as in the old clipper ships, and last winter in the Caribbean their accomodation still was not air conditioned....
It's just that something like that you do not see every day heading up the North Sea. She was on her way to Sweden, so a bit off her normal route.
As for being 'undercanvassed' /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, she was actually motoring with no sail up at all, not much wind at the time anyway.
