A beautifully written, lyrical account of a summer cruising an old wooden long keeler, the Anassa, from east coast of scotland to the west coast. The author is a childrens book illustrator and a talented artist, the book actually has fold out reproductions of some really lovely watercolours from the trip.
The subtext of a relationship drawing to its natural ending and a new starting point life in a different location is so subtly and beautifully entwined, you could easily miss it.
This is my second reading of it, something I rarely do, and I enjoyed it even more than the first time round . Superb!

Wonderful! It’s actually on my book case after a mention in another thread on here. Not got round to reading it; I must move it up the ever growing “to read” pile.
