Is it a co-incidence or careful government spin that on the day Britain has to change the name of a perfectly good sea area from Finisterre to Fitzroy to accommodate the Spanish, that a government minister, better given to digging up cricket pitches in his youth, sits down to try and give away Gibraltar to appease the Spanish. They have all our fish - what more do they want? Anybody got a spare gunboat?

Gib was far more Spanish than English when I went there and no longer has any stragic importance so give it to them I say.

Euro myth 10001.As I recall it our true Brit fishermen SOLD their fishing rights to the spanish.The spanish just decided to borrow money and invest for the future using it to buy our fisherman out of the industry.No-one took or gave anyone anything.Our lads took the money offered and ran.Cannot blame them for going but the allocation was theirs to sell.
