Apologies to the forum founders, but when looking for a name for a group which exchanges rumours and gossip about marine matters there could be only one choice: Scuttlebut!

We have started putting together a forum (in no way a replacement for this excellent virtual venue) where maritime organisations can share information on training and equipment, as well as sharing news and of a commercial or charity interest.

I hope this new Forum can be a bit more original in some of its contributions, or is it there just to nick others' creations?

The idea came from PPRUNE the professional pilot's discussion group, where there is a lively international exchange of gossip and general news. If we can help transfer the idea to the marine community then we would be happy.
