I think that we have sorted the runners and riders for this auspicious occasion, but if anybody else wishes to join either with or without a boat please let me know and I will try and sort berthing.
On the Friday evening, assuming that we get as far as the Scuttlebutt Bar, would anybody be interested in a general knowledge quiz? Teams of 3 or 4 people, £1 a head to enter, the winning team gets 50% of the take and the rest goes to RNLI? If there is enough interest I will put something together. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Cruise? Wot cruise I would be interested in taking Moondance on a cruise if I new when and wear
i go away for a well earned break and you arrange a cruise and leave me out
Has that Big Nick been talking about my habbits, its all lies
Anyway Wot Cruise

Quizzes are good, you have the opportunity to put the 4 sassenachs in one corner, and invent a fiendishly difficult quiz full of 'local' questions and mock as we score zero.
We will know this in advance and use the time to consume the local brew at an unwise rate, thus having a ready made excuse for our poor showing.

If it throws a few quid into a charity bucket, all the better.

I am prepared to donate a prize of my choosing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Count me and my crew in Pete.
Can "General Knowledge" be a "Specialist Subject" in a quiz? I've always rather hoped so.
Baggsy we retain the services of Big Rocky Sgeir, specialist subjects "The Obscure," "Tiny Anchorages on the West Coast Of Scotland," and "Little Known Soviet Politicians And Their Accomplishments." /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

By asking me to be in your team, you must be a good loser. an admirable quality on these occasions. I don't think that that I have ever, not even once, been in a winning quiz team. I am generally regarded as being a quiz liability.

The one and only time I was in a quiz team was last year with Mrs Full Circle on the East coast Ladies weekend, at the local yacht club.I am proud to say we won!!

My small contribution was in the section on 'Nursery Rhymes'- I happen to be a nursery school music teacher! A lot of the blue blazers were quite disgruntled that a rowdy team of women beat them all /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Whilst I am sure that some of you would like to organise your own teams, would it be fairer to pick one person off each boat who then draws names out of a hat or similar receptacle to create the teams in a randomish sort of way?

Excellent! Can you bring along a quantity of recorders, kazoos and triangles? I'm sure you'll find that the mental age of the cruisers will lie comfortably within your area of expertise.

Or show your ..... I quite like quizzes, but - - -
Back to the beginning, whereTF is the scuttlebut bar? Is this the same cruise that I am participating in, or another one?
One of my navigation requirements is a knowledge of the intended destination.

Bill, AKA Sahona ( in the peaceful place )

Gotcha, NFP, CU there. Nothing on my Cmaps - must be too old, but I see something on GoogleEarth north of Ballochmartin, that must be it.
Nick O' the Webfeet, are you copying all this, goodbuddy?

[/ QUOTE ] All received and copied . . .

Definitely up for ra quuz (only word in Scots with a double 'u' ) - it will make a change from doing them. (The Fatuous Bowles Brothers are performing the T&T 2008 pub quiz this very night)

Looking forward to what will probably be our first sail for over six months . . . wonder if we can remember how to do it?

- Nick
