Scrooge\'s guide to antifouling

1) Buy a tin of Blakes Tiger
2)Set to work with gusto
3) halfway through notice 75% gone
4) add thinner
5) 75% done .almost all gone
6) buy cheapest smallest tin of closest matching blue
7) pour some of new into old tin and mix
8) paint some on
9) pour some more of new in to mix and paint on .. repeat

and that is why the antifoul at the back of my boat is a different blue from the antifoul at the front ..

Re: Scrooge\'s guide to antifouling

I shouldn't worry. In a couple of weeks it will all be covered in weed and scum and you won't be able to tell the difference anyway. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: Scrooge\'s guide to antifouling

Surely if one were being a scrooge while anti-fouling one wouldn't have started with Blakes, but a tin of Blue Dulux and a bottle of tabasco....

Re: Scrooge\'s guide to antifouling

Erm I did, together with some puree'd scotch bonnet chilies but it only lastes a fortnight cos apparently all the limpets and mussels like spicy food. Tried semolina mixed with the dulux last year but the sea anemones thrived on that ;-(

You can always drop the rudder off and repaint it later if the color doesn't quite match? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
