Screwed by what I thought was a good company.

In the past I have had good dealings with Hawke House Marine.

Last week I arrranged for new double bed foam (inc memory foam)to be ready for collection on the Friday morning. I had one chance of collection due to other commitments so emphasised the need for it to be ready in the morning. I turned up (having travelled a fair distance) to be told that it wasnt ready.

I then had to move boat, see bank and a few other essential tasks and by the time this was completed, Hawke House was shut, just as I had forecast.

Naturally they are also shut on Saturday.

On Sunday I flew back to Norway.

I have just asked them to deliver to the broker at Thorney Island, and they want to charge nearly £20.

I am exceedingly unimpressed by this /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Mark,
I live about 2 miles away from them. If it is made so it will go in the back of my car I could collect it for you and store in my (dry) garage until you are able to collect it if it helps?

Strangely, I was there first thing on Friday, and the wee trainee was just getting going on glueing varous section of rubber together for your mattress. By the time I left, 0915ish, the base was made and the memory foam was being applied - it couldn't have been far from finshed, so what went wrong?

I too have issues with HH, as they know full well about the disolouring problem of their glues on white lining, but Mr Dring is happy to sell these products without so much as a word of warning, which is a small detail but detracts greatly from their credibility.

Cant have been more than 40 minutes later that I arrived. Glue was still wet and would not be ready until midday. I had to catch the tide to get boat to Multihull World by top of tide, thus needed to start from Hayling by 1200, and needed to go somewhere else first.

Mike, very kind of you, but needs to remain as a double although they could possibly roll it up enough to fit?

I was asking them to deliver to Multihull world at Thornham Marina, - I will see if Thornham have a delivery of people to Gosport in the near future and would be willing to collect.

I am not back in UK until mid august! Hopefully boat will have sold by then!

Hmm I don't think I can get it in the back of a Cougar if its a double in one piece even with the seats let down. I do know Alan Dring very well though and could ask him to deliver to me at no charge. As he passes the door fairly regularly he probably would...
Let me know if you want me to try.
