My centre cockpit Bene has rather a lot of fine cratches in the 'windscreen' - probaby caused by a previous owner using an abrasive cleaner, or possibly even rubbing in dried salt...

Anyone know if there is a polish or something I might use to get them out?

If you can find it "Jewellers Rouge" is a buffing agent that will take out scratches from plastic lenses, windows and other such viewing surfaces the same way rubbing compound removes scratches from paint. I am told that whitening toothpastes contain similar compounds and work equally well but I have not tried them personally.

I've used Brasso for this kind of thing and it seems quite effective for minor roughness. You could start with 1200 grade paper first if it's very rough.

You need the correct plastics polish for perspex. It takes a great deal of patience and perhaps a very slow buff machine. If you try to hurry the process you will surely get more fine scratches. So go slow. olewill

Brasso is very good and does in fact contain jewellers polish or "rouge" a very clean polishing mop loaded with brasso does a fair job but don't apply too much pressure. If its very bad buy some "buff soap" and use that first but don't press too hard or you will loose flatness.
