Sand it down with Wet and dry, then use a cutting compound, then polish and then a wax, Easy.

This has got to be a wind-up!

WET & DRY => abrasive coated paper that can be used wet or dry, available from motor accessory shops, DIY multi stores, high street ironmongers and of course your local swindlery.

AutoGlym? You can use it if you want but it won't work - gelcoat is hard as a "woman of ill repute"'s heart.

If the scratches are deep you might consider gelcoat filler first to fill the scratches first then sand, polish and wax.

I would also recomment getting your hands on a book on basic hull / boat repair and maintenance.

just get a gel coat repair kit at marine supply and follow directions, or take your boat for expert repair. not to hurt your feelings, but find a night school shop/hobbie class, because your questions are very basic and you need to be in control of your boat/repair for the safety of you and crew while on the water.
