My dad has an old fibreglass dory that has seen better days, it hasnt been used for a few years & been left out to the elements leaving it faded & stained etc
My dad has now the early(?) signs of alzheimer's so i thought it would be nice to take him out in the boat as fishing was his favourite past time.
I would like to tart it up & wondered if i could paint it ?
I was thinking of giving it a sanding & blowing it over with a litre of beige cellulose car paint  ! (or brushing it on)

or would a Dulux gloss be as good (although i know thier paints have changed over the last few years due to new regs)

I'm not looking to spend weeks applying an expensieve paint for a brilliant job, just tarting up a scrappy old boat
I try & get a picture of it it to post up
Any advice would be grateful
Thanks

Don't even think about spraying or cellolose.
Dulux or any domestic paint will make it smart again (I've used Berger gloss which is cheaper and very hard)
You're not trying to make it waterproof, just puting on a decorative coating.
Use small rollers with foam sleeves. You can get a nice finish.

As LS says . A good quality domestic paint.

Flat the existing surface with fine wet and dry

The more effort you put into the preparation the better it will look.
