Scottish Open Golf at Loch Lomond Pics

Last weekend we had our traditional raft up in the bay next to the Loch Lomond golf course for the Scottish open. As always it was a great get-together and the water was even warm enough for a swim!

Scottish Open

Very impressive indeed, silver boy, and indeed it didn't go unnoticed with plenty of shots of your boats on the TV whilst I was watching. Have you ever tried this in normal Scottish summer weather ie F7 with horizontal sleet?

Well on the Saturday night some of us rafted up at one of the islands and the good old Scottish weather soon kicked in.

Sunday wasn't looking too good at first but it brightened up eventually! The golf always seems to bring our annual good weather.

Also very impressed with the raft-up, it looks like Scotland could be on top for good weather this summer!

I also saw it on TV, and felt pissed I wasn't there, We always came down to the golf with our boat.

Thats what I would call a decent 'gathering of the clans'.

Does Loch Lommond have access to the sea, via a canal?

Theres no navigable link to the sea from the Loch. There is however a river that flows into the Clyde estuary that has a weir to keep the horrible salty stuff out and our boats nice and shiney

Yeh Al they're different, first 2 pics are the Saturday and the rest are from the Sunday at the final.

Loch Lommond could be the destination of choice for trailable cruisers, they seem a friendly crew!
