Hope this boat is not owned by a forumite. Last Sunday afternoon she hammered past us in the Desborough Cut heading downstream and made a group of kayakers including young children very unhappy with her not insubstantial wash. As far as I know from their shouts the boat's name has been passed with a complaint to the EA via a lockkeeper.

wash

I think you have to try and make a call with kayakers; if it's their first time out they are generally terrified and think that the wash will tip them over, after that they generally ride on it (c;

I think this year has seen an awful lot of boats tearing up the river; I was standing in a dinghy yesterday washing All Gold's side deck and was amazed at how many people slowed down. None.

I'd better not be too miserable about it in case anyone spots me having one over the eight (kmh)

The group in question definately had some younger members. Mind you, earleir that day a sculler made a real effort to ram Jedi despite shouting, 5 toots and a serious handful of backwards. A four nearby gave him a right earful:-)
