I just wanted to bring the following thread to the attention of anyone who's likely to be affected by the 90/180 Schengen rule post Brexit, but perhaps doesn't frequent the Liveaboard Link forum:

Schengen 90/180 post Brexit (again... I know!)

In short, it is perhaps worth contacting your MP regarding this matter as recently encouraged by the RYA. It's not yet too late for a change! Thanks for reading! :)

Surprised by the lack of interest in this thread here so would there be any value in merging this thread with the one in Liveaboard Like, which is very active, but to continue to give maximum visibility, leave a tell-tail here❓

I suppose most of us do look at the other forums and respond there. I know I do. I don’t live aboard but still visit the forum.
this regulation has basically scuppered our retirement plans to cruise the med or at least made things more difficult.
we are currently based in Levington on the east coast and so the east coast forum is my most frequented one But as you can see I come here too.
this 90/180 is going to be an issue but I guess we need to wait to see how things pan out. We have a house in Cyprus too and spend extended periods there now but Cyprus is not as far as I know in the shengen area and so these visits don’t count against the 90 days. At least I hope that’s correct. We did try to get residency but were sent away with a flea in our ear buy a very rude official who insisted we did not need it.
we plan to head to the Spanish Rias and possibly beyond in 2022 by which time I hope things will calm down. And then of course there is the Covid issue with the issues that brings. Restrictions and the like. We are intending to cruise deven and cornwall next season but I am told the marinas have been very busy with people who have purchased boats because they cannot go abroad on holiday. Hopefully this will be short lived. Bring on the vaccine.
