I've been asked to replace someone's rotten exhaust elbow with a new stainless one.

I can order a 2.5" dia, long elbow no problem, quite cheap actually:

http://www.nero.co.uk/index.php/but...dius-elbow-90-sch-40s/part-number-be40-4.html

The trouble is, the old elbow has been extended by 20mm at one end and about 50mm at the other. So I need an off cut of straight pipe to do this but it's £85 a metre, plus loads of postage to Jersey :ambivalence:

Does anyone have any bits lying around or know someone who does? A fabricator who works with this kind of thing and has a scrap bin full of bits?

I can't get the flanges profile cut because the set up costs are too much for one off's so they have to be hand made (can't find any suitable universal weld on flanges on the net surprisingly) - this could be the world's most expensive elbow if I don't reign the costs in a bit!

Any help/advice most welcome :)

There was an article by skipper stu in PBO magazine a while ago on a DIY exhaust. You can search the archive on the website. (if it works!)
