I have one of these excellent (so I am told) systems but the top swivel bearing has seized, It looks as if one of the Torlon bearngs has broken. I can see the ball bearings but I cant see how to get the top bearing race off.

Does anyone have experience of servicing these bearings and/or do you know if the whole bearing will come off over the lower end of the foil or does the foil have to come down?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I haven't installed one of these in a while, so am a bit rusty on the specifics.
I would say your chances of changing the bearings while halyard carrier is on the foil is pretty slim as fastenings will be corroded in. Prob better to take it off and work on it at a vice. I would imagine depending on its age that the bearing will not come apart as i think that this system is held together by grub screws. Find out how much a new halyard carrier is and go from there.

What model is it? I have a 2nd hand spare one but its pretty big.

Thanks to both for your responses, I think the model is the 2100, the documentation covers 3 models but the boat is 40ft and the 2100 is reccommended for boats upto 42ft so I assume it is that one.

If the used bearing ou have is the right one I would be interested in buying it, what would you want for it?

Thanks again, Martin
