A couple of years ago I masked up a rubbing strake joint and poured epoxy down the crack to fill up a scarf. Of course, I now know that UV degrades the epoxy and sure nuff it's gone yellow. There's various options but can anyone suggest a suitable substance to replace the epoxy if I rake it out and redribble.

I did this with a scarf in my rubbing strake 25 years ago. Went slightly yellow, but UV inhibited varnish both stops it from going further and hides some of the colour. If the repair has worked I would leave it rather than trying to clean it out and replace - perhaps ending up with a more visible mess than now.

OK I'll leave it alone but don't want varnish on rubbing strake so will probably "point" up the outside of joints with some rubbery, caulky stuff to keep wet out of end grain.
