Hi, Merry Christmas All,

Managed to get to the boat today, as always heating on, power on, instruments on, plotter/ radar on, Whoops! "Scanner Not Responding" tried without success to get it to work, anyone got any ideas? Tried it last about six weeks ago, and it worked fine then. I am assuming its a connection issue, but if not does anyone know how much a replacement might be and where is the best place to get one from? It's the 2.5 Kw model.

What make is it? If Raymarine maybe try a system reset. Mine plays up all the time, heartily sick of it, never workswhen I want it to, PITA and Raymarine don't seem to have any answers.

Same happened to me last week, radar on saying scanner not responding, turned out to be the batteries were under charged, switched on charger and the scanner came on.

Try removing the scanner cable from the back of the display. Plenty of WD40 on both the display socket and the cable end. Wiggle, and refit.

Scanner not working

Hi I had the same problem several years ago on a Raymarine SL70CRC.
I would try all the above first. However i had to call on Greenham Regis who traced the fault to water entry in to the Scanner casing and electrics. About a pint of water poured out when the engineer removed the scanner and tipped sideways. However i didnt take the option to buy a new scanner, but took the unit home and dried out in the Airing cupboard.
Worked fine afterwards. The water was entering under the old style Bitumen sealing washers which are used to seal the scanner casing where it mounts to the radar arch.
