The Shannon Boat Rally 2014 started yesterday at LRYC on Lough Ree. LRYC is the 2nd oldest YC in the world.

SBR 2014 fleet starts to arrive yesterday in sweltering heat 27 deg C. 100 vessels are expected on the week long CIC which will take in much of the vast Lough Ree.

The water temperature was a staggering 21 deg C. Lots of folks swimming.

A special gathering tonight when the 54 past commodores or their surviving loved ones were presented with commodores flags. The First SBR was 1960.

It was a special moment tonight as the past commodores were honoured and memories flooded back.

Cheers Andie. Yes on board for next ten days. Fleet moved today from LRYC to Coosan.
