Say no to 0870

Those of you who object to being charged extra to call 0870 numbers when you've tried to reduce telephone costs with a "low cost" package that only allows 01 and 02 numbers might be interested by this website that gives alternative "normal" landline numbers.

Yes I totally agree. And Martin Lewis' site is excellent. The problem is trying to explain to people that 0870 and 0845 numbers are 'revenue sharing' ...in other words, the person you are calling gets a rake-off on the calls.

Been hammering away at this for years, but most peoples eyes just glaze over.

wot if you have to call a national number anyway?
and worse ... the call centre is in India?

personally, I miss the 1970s.
