Found this on an electrical forum and thought
I wonder how many uses it could be put to on a boat /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
No more dismantling entire panels to find a leak or loose wire
Have a peek in the fuel tank and so much more /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The Ridgid SeeSnake Micro inspection camera allows you to easily perform visual inspections in hard to reach areas. Its lightweight, handheld design means that it can be carried anywhere - providing solutions when and where you need them, while allowing you to offer more services and increase productivity.

Is it steerable in any way?

We have had similar products for Urban Search and Rescue applications, very useful if I have one on hand for all those awkward tanks and things. We could not see into the bow tanks on the boat and had questions about some plumbing in there, and the rescue camera showed us all we needed to know. Hideously expensive, and very easily broken by firefighters. I have had some clever Japanese ones with steerable cameras, but they cost over £7k. These days you might be as well to tie your mobile to a stick and use the camera on that instead!

One could look up their ancestors with that. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Just been reading up on it and apparently it's steerable , water proof and has extensions so you can extend it to 30ft
How much does it cost to get a diver to inspect your hull or shaft these days ?
Oh , and the botty inspection seems to have been mentioned on all other forums too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif as well as the 'stick a mobile phone on a stick' comment too

Yep , apparently the steerable one is still being worked on , according to one of the designers , along with another option that allows you to record what you see , just passing on info as I find it

I think you will find that it isn't steerable and costs around £275 from here.

Pretty cheap, I guess, compared with the professional kit. In our house these USAR Technical Search tools are known as, "Up the skirt cameras". Which is all they're ever used for, really.

You weren't the lucky sod that won the free one I take it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif apparently they ran a competition when it was first launched and the winner got one for free /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
