Saving threads - non boaty advice needed.

As a long term inmate, I should know the answer to this:

Is there a method of saving favourite threads within the site? How is it done? Thanks.

Thanks Nigel, I am onto it now......I have created a new folder, marked my chosen thread but it seems unwilling to save it to the folder. Any ideas?

^ It is tedious. You have to select the subscribed thread with the tick box on the right, then click the Selected Threads button, then select Move ..., then click Go, then browse to an existing folder, then tell it to actually do it.

I expect you (as I have just done) created a message folder and not a subscription folder. The latter is under the "Subscriptions" heading. It seems you can have a folder with the same name under either, just to confuse yourself. When I made the latter folder and went to subscribe your thread, my new folder showed up for choosing.

Note that each message has a number with hash-sign at top right. Right-click menu on that offers a usual copy-URL action, which allows you to paste the URL into any memorandum, or email, you wish. Although the link is to an individual message it gives access to the whole thread.

All these mechanisms just keep URLs locally; no copying of message text is performed.

Through looking at your query I found I have a couple of threads subscribed-to from 2011!
