Just submitted to Theresa May......our local MP.
Dear Mrs May
I'm begging you....pleading with you....humbly and most submissively beseeching you to help preserve British humour.
You are, no doubt, aware of the mock letter box which has been stuck on the downstream side of Sonning Bridge. As a boat user, I know that this has created immense pleasure and amusement to many hundreds (possibly thousands) of people during the summer. Unfortunately, now that the witty, harmless bit of fun has crept into the national press it seems that a bureaucrat somewhere has decided that this is simply not good enough.
A gout-ridden, pig-eating, overweight, 'keep 'em down the mines' administrator has decided that this must be top priority.
I imagine he's sitting there thinking: Her Majesty's Postal Service (soon to be sold, hurrah!) can not be undermined by such childish antics. Someone may drown trying to post a letter. A postman trying to empty it may be devoured by sharks (for there be monsters up 'ere!!).
Please...do the decent thing....win some street cred (innit)...Save Our Letterbox.
