Salem is (was!) a wonderfully charismatic 26ft carvel built motorsailor, circa 1966. She is bilge-keeled, and transom sterned with a deep cosy wheelhouse and big open cockpit. The perfect day trip/fishing boat or weekender.

Accomodation below consists of a relatively roomy two berth saloon, and forepeak/heads.

I bought her approximately one year ago with a view to restoring her - but another larger boat came along and Salem has to go. She needs quite a few new planks and some fairly basic tlc from an owner with time and enthusiasm. (Or money!)

The best offer received following the Easter weekend will secure this project without engine/gearbox – which I will then sell seperately. Or I will leave the original four cylinder engine/box in place if the best offer is over £500. (If you want the boat for nothing and there are no better offers, I will be happy to hand her over - she really should be saved!)

If there are no takers, Salem will have to be broken up immediately - which will be a bit of a tragedy. She really is a charismatic old girl, with lots of original features and is definitely a worthwhile project.

Please take a look at the pictures by clicking the link above. The boat is at Ridge Wharf Boatyard, Wareham, at the top end of Poole Harbour. PM me for more details if interested...

Cheers
Donny

Just came across your posting for the motor sailor. What a great looking little motor sailor. I am too far away (Glasgow) to come and look at it and am already restoring a small motor sailor so would get certified by my lady if I got another project. I hope you got someone interested in it as it would be a heartbreak to see her going to firewood.

regards

Saved!

I'm delighted to report that Salem has found a new owner. Thanks for looking, everyone.
