Satellite Phones

hi Folks, i am looking at a satellite phone for the boat. i have looked around , and globalstar option seems like a good deal, as it doesent cost an arm and a leg to call a globalstar sat phone.

another option is to purchase a sat phone from the usa, with an airtime option,, as the exchange rate gives you a good saving, and apparently you dont have to pay vat or state tax!

if anyone has gone the road of buying a sat phone from the usa, i would appreciate it
if you could give me some info...

or if anyone has recommendations on what sat network to go for i would appreciate the info,,,

dont do a pay as you go option, the option i have to go for is billpay.


do you not need a postal address in usa., to get bill pay option airtime package for satphones buying from the usa?

iridium is fierce expensive..to call...from a landline,,,,compared to globalstar...
