In the current PBO there is a review of a Thuraya system for data only (though I reckon it would work with Skype quite nicely), does anyone have first hand knowledge of this 'modem'?

I have had a quick browse through MES's site, but it seems a bit thin on the topic.

Thurya for data, would be OK, but how much?? Thats the question, I will wait a couple more years yet, things will be much faster, much cheaper.

The article reckons 2k for the modem, which is steep, but then 144kbps is a pretty future resistant speed I reckon.
