I am currently in Almerimar and have enjoyed Spain for the last 3 years but would like a change- French med coast seems virtually impossible or very expensive so looking at Sardinia- I need some where with reasonalbe access from london airports and also where i can keep the yacht in a secure marina for several weeks at a time unattended. santa Teresa di Gaallura looked a good possibility from the posts but looking on google earth is it not open to the north east?? also considering Alghero or may be castelardo - though not researched these at all. I think north east will work best for us in view of low cost easy jet and ryan air access- any experieince of these areas wouls be gratefully received. We are 14 metre (or perhaps just under!!!) sailing yacht

I wouldn'be much worried by NE winds in Santa Teresa di Gallura.
The marina is deep inside the bay, and the worst winds are NW anyway.
But be aware that the roads are narrow (and often crowded in summertime!).
S.Teresa isn't as much within easy reach as you might expect just looking at the map, neither from Alghero nor from Olbia airports.

Ryanair fly from Stanstead to Alghero (which is a lovely place!). Marina 20 minute in taxi from airport.

Do NOT (repeat NOT) even comtemplate Fertilia.Terrible reports of behaviour of Cesare the owner there. Also a long way from anywhere unless you have a car.I have reserved a berth at Alghero for the winter.Pontoons run by a firm called sermar. Well worth a flight out to check did it in March and had a great weekend.
