evening gents,

What is the average fuel consumption at cruising speed you should expect from this boat I find that this type of information seems non existent on the internet am i right in thinking 10 to 12 gallons per hour per engine or is my estimations slightly deluded. Would be good to hear from someone that has actually got this boat

thanking in advance

Danny

Dan

I've got a Fairline Targa 39 with twin KAD42 10 --12 gallons per hour cruising Total not per engine
If in heavy weather, on and off the throttles this increase's to about 14 GPH
Local runs and slow trawling along Coast 7-8 GPH or less

Hope this helps

What would the top speed be? If its around 33-36 knots then I assume it would be similar to my 2 KAD 43's, best case 2.3, most commonly 2.6 and sometimes 2.9 litres per nm on average consuming 5-600 litres of fuel. Once I had them consuming 4 ltr per nm on a 120 nm crossing at 8-14 knots, bad seas on the bow.

I had a 34ft bavaria running KAD43s (same basic engine) and from on the plane to about 3400rpm the fuel ratio of consumption to speed worked out at a pretty constant 1.9nm per imperial gallon - that's data taken from 1000+ nm and calculated to negate tide. Boat weight etc will be very similar to the sunseeker

WOT on that boat was 38knts so a fast cruise was 34knts for which total fuel burn would be +/- 18g/hr

Drop the speed back further and 26knt cruise was around 14g/hr

AD41 was from memory 45 ltr/hour at wot so 90lr/hr total. I think kad 44 is 60 ltr/WOT so guess kad 42/3 will be somewhere in the middle.
