I haven't used my Tab E since last summer. Charged it up and it works fine except email; it only displays emails up til July and the whirl thing that indicates its working just keeps, whirling. Any suggestions?

That sounds a bit beyond my capabilities.

remove the account:
drag the top bar down and click on settings (the cogged wheel icon).
Within the Accounts section; highlight the offending account e.g. outlook and click on 'remove account'
job done

removing the app:
drag the top bar down and click on settings (the cogged wheel icon).
click on application manager. This will list all the apps on your device.
select the appropriate one e.g. outlook. click on the uninstall button.
job done!
To re-install the app visit the play store.....
etc...

If the other device (computer?) you've been using recently has been configured to delete mail from server when downloaded or, after a set time, then the recent emails are no longer there to download to the tablet. I've had problems in the past when one was configured as IMAP and the other POP3. Go direct to account via web mail and see what's still in your inbox.

Possibly, but chances are theres something wrong with the app on the OP's device e.g. the cache is corrupt, the stored password is wrong......or something is incompatible with the innards of the software. So best to remove the app from the machine and start again.

I tend to agree. He doesn't say whether the old emails have just downloaded and then download stopped or, whether they are the ones he'd downloaded last year.

In post #4 it appears his knowledge is limited so maybe best to collar a teenager and it will be fixed in a jiffy:)

P.S. The email app on my Samsung Tab A just says - Email version 4.2.53.1, app downloaded from Google Play Store
