I had a meeting out in North Norfolk today. What could I do but come back via Brancaster and call in at the Fish Shed. What a great supper.
I wandered down to the harbour and it was heaving. Burnham Market was at a standstill. Its a lovely place, but my goodness, I think everyone must have come up from Southwold to escape! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Must admit I have yet to try this samphire stuff, though it does seem to be highly recommended /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Cook it like you would asparagus (some folks call it sea asparagus).
Serve with butter and a goodly helping of pepper.
Remember to hold it at the root end and drag the outer flesh from the harder inner (oo-er!) when you eat it.
Used to collect it from the other side of the channel at Wells back in the day. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Used to be able to get your own cockles then too before some suction dredger thing from the Wash arrived and took the lot! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
