Just finished reading the first book after being convinced by Sam to read it after seeing him at the Southampton Boat Show.

Wow what a book! There is a chapter where there is grave danger going on. For the first time in ages, I read it, and was genuinley worried about the characters, so much so, my heart was popping out of my chest. Well wrote and beautifully descriptive.

A definite must read for anyone remotely interested in sailing!

Yep, agreed, met him at the Soton boat show a few years ago, bought one of his books on the spot (good sailsman) and have since bought most of the rest!

I have heard him give club talks a couple of times and I can highly recommend him for anyone looking for a highly entertaining speaker. He seems a genuinely nice bloke.

Just discovered another of Sam's books. Black Fish, published 2010. Haven't read it yet, but HWMBO is enjoying it!
I have found that the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth has a selection of his books.
