Hi

Our boat has perspex windows on the front and they have really bad salt cracks in them making it almost impossible to see where you going. Is there an easy way of getting these out of the perspex?

Thanks

electric buffer and tcut or farecla will get most of the opaqueness out

Hi, once your windows get to that state you really should think about changing them. Scratches can be polished out of Perspex (PMMA) but you also will remove most of the UV capping that outdoor grades have, this will result in accelerated degradation of the material which will become cloudy fairly quickly but more importantly it will lose the little impact strength it has left. Not good as PMMA shatters quite easily anyway and can leave very sharp pieces.
The basic material is not expensive, you will need to use a router or bandsaw to cut it to shape, if you need to drill holes you'll need to modify the drill bit cutting edge to stop the material chipping, but none of that is difficult. If you need any more info, drop me a PM.
