Salty Air Democrats

Due to the fact that in the current elections I have seen no mention of sailing or sailors leads me to believe that the current political parties have absolutely no regard for those using the sea whether it be for earning a living or purely recreational purposes..
Some friends and I have decided to start our own political party to be known as. Salty Air Democrats or Saltys for short.
We will campaign on the following issues.

1. We demand a rise in sea levels.
2. Absolutely no taxes on wind or tidal power.
3. We will endeavour to keep the poor off the sea.
4. A complete ban on the consumption of lobster.

We could expand the list but think that 4 issues are enough to be going on with because of our limited recourses. We wish, unlike the stoopid party (conservative), to be able to fund our promises.

Your support would be appreciated.

I am coming round to your way of thinking since starting this party I have come to hate myself.
You should have seen the problems we had finding a name. I wanted to call it the Salty Dog democrats but the female members in our quarum thought it a little misoginistic however Salty Dogbitches just was not going to work. Hence the compromise.

I would respectfully suggest that the successive Governments (including the stoopid party (conservative) and the even stoopider party (you insert name) have been successfully carrying out (and funding) your issues/polices:-

Re #1 By continuing to ignore global warming by mainly the 'first world" (and others) the icecaps are melting therefore contributing to "rise in sea levels."

Re #2 There is no current direct tax on wind or tidal power. There are of course taxes on the equipment to utilize them. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re #3 issue "keeping the poor off the sea". Look at rates of VAT, red diesel price to be changed, Marina charges(caused partly by TAX and greed).

Re #4 "complete ban on the consumption of lobster." Look at rates of VAT and other taxes. the product is being priced out of the market. Not a complete ban but severe restrictions leading towards it.
