I am thinking to install a salt water circuit to have a shower in long trips. My idea is to have two separate pipe (fresh and salt) and joint them just a the shower input with a y valve to select fresh or salt.
Anyone have a similar installation or have any information on it?
Thanks in advance

The danger is you'd get a back-flow from salt to fresh, ruining your freshwater supply. Most people don't like salt water showers and prefer a flannel in a small basin of freshwater when water is limited. Or, more usually, they just stay smelly. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I would not do that. Saltwater plumbing can give trouble. I used to have a salt water tap in the galley, but gave it up when the perfectly good Fynspray hand pump (still in use for fresh water, many years later!) played up. And the risk of connecting salt to fresh is not one to be contemplated.

Use bucket in cockpit!

Salt water to the galley sink will save you a load of water. Salt water to the shower - not so convinced. I imagine you would use more fresh water to rinse off the salt than a really frugal freshwater shower on its own.
