You have to admit that Salcombe is probably the place in Britain with the widest choice of retail outlets in which to buy posh sunglasses and designer tee shirts, so it is not all bad.

Kate Bush will be pleased to read about her Salcombe home. It usually takes us 15 minutes at planing speed to pass her place once we've left the harbour.

My daughter works in one of the boutique shops and really enjoys it. I think its all overpriced tat, but I am old, probably.

I prefer that wee place in Sidmouth, but it does get a tad busy in Folk Week and they have been know to run out of haddock.
