All restaurants and shops in Salcombe are now able to shut early for Winter as the big spenders from the MBM Cruise have arrived. Also, looking at the fleet queueing up for fuel, the MD of Devon Marine Fuels can now retire /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Quite an impressive fleet, though at one point it looked like a Broomarama. On further investigation there were a few other brands represented, though I was surprised to see only a couple of boats under 33ft.(not counting the RIB). Calm Voyager looked very smart even though the topsides had the appearance of an advertising hoarding /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
BUT NOT ONE VESSEL SPORTED A MOBO BURGEE (flag to you Haydn) /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif . I circled the rafted up group twice, proudly flying the drunken mouse on my port crosstree, but not a jot of recognition.

Nice planning, fill up at the most expensive place in the UK /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Which are the best places to fill up around that area then? We're hoping to head West for a few weeks, so pointers would be handy. We have a pretty good range so its more a case of filling up when we go past the cheaper places.

Cheers,
Rick

I don't know the actual prices but historically Dartmouth and Salcombe Barges should be avoided as they are more expensive than Brixham and Plymouth.
I think the cheapest available fuel in the SW is at the fuel barge in Falmouth, though it may be possible to get it cheaper direct from a road tanker in Newlyn.
Have a nice trip.

PS Quayside Fuels in Weymouth are very reasonable - see Fuel Price Forum.

Well Newlyn is always cheapest, next cheapest prob Falmouth Industries fuel barge.

I filled up at QAB Plymouth the other week. Cant remember how much, but 2p better than Y Haven. Bout 56p I think.

It's getting harder and harder to find cheap fuel down here. You could try the yard with pontoon On the right as you go into Fowey. He used to be ok on price. Not used him in a while though.

And the Esso Tanker at St Sampsons is 37.5p/litre - I guess these posts belong on the fuel price forum /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Evry time I think about ordering one, I log on and see a message from HLB saying he's run out again! I'll just order one anyway I think.

Thanks LJS, oh and hlb an awl.
Kingsbridge was honoured with a visit by the MBM RIB this morning.
Told them I was flying the MoboChat burgee so they mentioned that they'd take a photo when they went past - don't reckon they'd seen one before. Rushed back to the boat to clean the muck off the hull left by drying out - didn't want you lot picking holes did I /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. Also nipped up to the flat to put on some more elegant clothing.
Anyway, following their lunch in the pub next door they departed on the far side of the channel and ignored Nordic Bird and I completely /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
That's my one chance of fame gone forever.
