Has anyone out there had experience of Hong Kong sails imported by CJ International? They are cheaper even than Crusader. I am looking for a basic cruising mainsail for a Sadler 32 and my budget is rather tight. Opinions, favourable and unfavourable (if any) would be gratefully appreciated.

John, no experience myself but just bumping this to the top in the hope that someone who knows something will notice. What sort of cost compared to crusader are you talkin about?

Hi Jimi

Sample quotes so far:- Jeckells £1050; Crusader £687; CJ International £560. All very basic including battens & 2 reef points (but no numbers or insignia) VAT & delivery.

Cheers, John

I reckon I got a good deal from Quay Sails in Poole after a bit of research.

Best tip for buying sails: make a written list of all the things you want in the spec - use brochures, sailmakers web sites etc. to remind yourself of the things to look for. Then you can ask for comparative quotes - sailmakers quotes usually not comparable like-for-like.
