Sailonline Ocean Race, inport race 1 - results

Dyflin - 165th. Good beginning and good end rescued a disastrous trip around the islands.

Asked to be renamed YBW_Dyflin, but got no response yet.

Finally just finished!! 324th

18 hours sailing yesterday and 10 hours of work today did not help.

Did appear that i was parked at every bar along the way!! It was good fun though.
 
i think i will need at least a year per leg. Of course worse of all, my boat is coming out the water on sat!!! I may have to try and find some free internet to get my race underway!!
 
Ran aground on autopilot at 01:30 my local time after starting over 8 hours late and climbing steadily to 315, with one setback of 9 places when I forgot to go online in time to round Mark No 3. Since the rest of the race would have been a procession, I reckoned I'd learned enough and retired.

I count it as a satisfactory return to racing after about 20 years - and it's great to be able to race offshore without Marzine.

Let's see how much the domestic scene interferes with navigation duties on the race to the Cape... I may even end up driving a van to the UK before the finish.
