Sailmaker

sails

Four years old and the leach of my UV strip-less genoa has shredded. I need a sailmaker to repair and add a UV strip. Any reommendations?

I have to say I have always found Josh at Severn Sails very helpful and competent. He has a new loft now behind Force four in the new boat yard on Penarth road. He has a website , google Severn sails.

Not cheap though. The quotes he gave me were much the same as the big names despite being a small local sailmaker. At the same price I'd rather go to a known name.

I know my boat doesn't have any sails, how do you guys works those things? But try Marcus at Bristol Sails, Hanover Yard/Place Bristol
Old school sail maker, very competant with a natural interest and passion for what he does.
No connection just a genuine opinion.

Marcus at Bristol Sails got the job and did a fine job of it too. I wouldn't say he was cheap, but he was less expensive than the alternatives. He finished it quicker than he said, and it looks really good. I think he must have washed the sail because I'm sure it was grubbier when I took it in to him. Hopefully we'll have enough wind to test it this weekend.:):):)
