I know a lot of liveaboards here run their own blogs but if your anything like me you occasionally need help with problems or design.

A friend of mine who has been a website designer for 20 years has started a facebook group to help with designs, WordPress, themes, hosting and photography. Basically help for those of us less skilled in making our sailing blogs and websites better. What’s better is that the help is free.

If you want any help at all or just to keep up with modern trends drop in for a chat. It would be good to have you along.

I get really uneasy about postings like this. Is it underhand commercial advertising, or what? Please reassure us Nostradamus.

I clicked on the link but unfortunately it took me to a sign-in for Facebook (suspected as much from the URL).

Andrew. Have a look at the group. there is no commercial aspect at all. I wanted some help with a design in a professionals only design group but as I am not a professional they don't let you post. There was nowhere I could find help so they set up the group to help idiots like me who were having problems. You need to fill your have full glass up a bit more my friend.

The link will take you to the Facebook page unless you are either not signed into Facebook or if you don't have a Facebook account. To access the page you need to have a Facebook account (least that's what I've always been told).

I was obviously too subtle in hinting that I wouldn't get access as I do not have a Facebook account and don't intend to get one. :D

Always nice to see people prepared to share knowledge for free, like the advice about boating here.
For those that dont want to access facbook then google can lead you to answers elsewhere, tutorials and solutions to specific problems.

For self help, go to the horses mouth: http://www.w3schools.com/
For the geek solution anything with stackexchange in the web address is going to be spot on.
