My pal is happy to join me for extended crewing, almost exclusively in sea areas Malin and Hebrides. He would really love to bring his golf clubs, and catch a round of golf when he can, in places that are close enough to reach from a dinghy ride ashore. Any recommendations for places I should sail to, in order to keep a happy crew?

There are lots of golf courses on the West Coast. Many of the islands have one. It gets a bit more complicated if you want direct access from the dinghy. Uncle Google is your friend. The lighthouse keepers on Oigh Sgeir used to have a five hole course, which certainly would have been accessible by dinghy, but presumably it has reverted to wilderness.
One of the two on Mull is at Scallastle Bay, near Craignure, and I have landed right on the course, when anchored in a cove in Scallastle Bay. The one at Tobermory isn't that far up the hill.

Balvicar Bay has visitor moorings and a dinghy landing pontoon - with the Isle of Seil golf course (9 holes?) within 200m.
Clubs are also available to hire from the shop / tearoom.
I don’t play golf so am not a great person to suggest answers but I have noticed Irish visitors arriving on Gigha by powerboat with golf clubs so assume that’s a “sensible” option.

There’s also a golf course not far from Gott Bay on Tiree - probably a bit of a treck with clubs from the “usual” landing point at the ferry but in good conditions accessible from the beach - although the tide goes in / out quite far so you’d need to plan carefully.

Also, it doesn't happen often as need zero swell from W, but i have anchored previously in Machrihanish Bay, and the golf course looks very near by. Need to make sure can get back off beach if weather changes (i didn’t land as was overnight waiting for tide for Mull of K .
PS Yes Gigha looks an excellent call.
