Hi there, as you can see I am new to this forum. We have finally put our apartment here in Ibiza up for sale and with the proceeds intend to buy a boat to live on. We intend to go back to the caribbean to live and do some charter work, one question I am hoping someone can answer is... has anyone sailed with their dog and if so can you give me some advice on what to do. She is fully innoculated including rabies. Any advice will be gratefully received.

If you do a search (almost top right-hand corner of your screen, and type in 'dogs', after a few mins, you will get aload of threads about sailing with dogs. Personally I love taking my little Springer, but she gets nervous when the sails flap. Still she manages short trips. But we won't be taking her on our longer ones. I have somone who I can leave her with.

Thanks Becky, I see you have copied it over to this site. I hope I get some good feedback. There is absolutely no way I am going to leave her behind, she's a black cocker spaniel by the way and is a big teddy bear. If necessary we will deal with beaurocracy when we get there.

I agree when we were living over there we often saw boats with dogs on. Would like to have some definate information before we go. She will have all her vaccinations up to date including rabies, I am also going to start her on heart worm tablets before we set off. Thanks to everyone for your input, it is very much appreciated. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
