Sailing to Camber Dock in Portsmouth Harbour

By '-2' do you mean 2m above chart datumn?

I have just looked on the web app, it shows a drying section but doesn't give a height.

On the W side of the old docks you can see the contour lines are at 1m intervals. The drying patch on the E side has one contour line inland of the CD contour. So that’s 1m above CD. So the chart is saying the depth on the dock is more than that 1m but less than 2m.

I was referring to the Hamilton bank rather than the camber.

I am sorry LG, I misunderstood you. But as the chart markings of the Hamilton Bank are (now!) not showing any contour line within the drying area, and the contour lines are at 1m intervals, it’s saying the bank dries by no more than 1m. Who knows what the truth is, particularly as (a bugbear of mine) the SonarCharts blanks out depths altogether on drying areas.

Thats a bug that makes sonar charts unhelpful unless you are a sailor who only sticks to deep water and never takes a risk..

Exactly. That bug is a bugbear of mine. My guess - and I'd love to be wrong - is that Navionics' management (in Italy) don't understand sailing, and as their compatriots sail only in non-tidal waters, they really think that the depth of drying areas is of no interest to sailors.
