I'd like to take the grand kids somewhere in the sunshine where they can learn to sail at half term. But the costs of Sunsail/Neillson etc during school holidays are eye-watering.

Does anyone know of alternatives, perhaps where you can camp, with the training in English?

all the best

No first hand experience, though I have been able to observe them teach a few times, but Les Glenans would be well worth a call.

Lovely area too.

Once again if it's big boats, how about Hercules Sailing in Gibraltar http://www.gibraltarsailingschool.com/

No language problem there and they do tidal courses too.

I was taught by Chris (who is Principal) there, when he taught in the UK - best instructor I ever had.

Also had a bit of Med moorings tuition from him on our own boat in Gibraltar a couple of years ago to build my confidence so I could take turns with my other half.

Still think he's a brilliant instructor.
